I came across an article today that presented a series of pictures taken during cardiovascular surgery procedures and was absolutely captivated by the aesthetic. As an amateur art critic who also happens to spend time as a medical student, I found this photography project to be a fun, informative, and entertaining way to bridge a field that can periodically lack a distinct human touch with a different field that is predicated upon that same thing. I've now watch countless surgical procedures but I've still not gotten to watch anything cardiac and I am rather sad about that. All surgeries are cool, but nothing is cooler than open heart!
